I believe we all inherently have who we are meant to be inside of us; sometimes, life’s challenges just make it incredibly difficult to see that version of ourselves.
My goal as a therapist isn’t to "fix" you or tell you how to live your life. Instead, I’m here to help you navigate your unique landscape, untangle the layers of stress or trauma, and work alongside you to uncover the inner strengths you already possess. I see therapy as a collaborative partnership—a safe space to pause, process, and figure out your next steps.
At Legacy Counselling and Wellness, I provide a straightforward, compassionate, and entirely judgment-free space. Together, we will look at the challenges you are facing and build a practical, meaningful path forward that honors your unique story.
My path to clinical therapy wasn't entirely linear, but looking back, every step was preparing me for this work.
I began my professional life earning a degree in journalism, where I honed the art of deep, intentional listening, asking meaningful questions, and uncovering the core of a story. From there, I spent years working in new home sales, where I fell in love with guiding couples and families through a major life milestone as they worked toward building their dream homes. Transitioning into counseling felt entirely natural—moving from helping people build their physical spaces to helping them build, heal, and strengthen their internal emotional homes.
I bring both high-level clinical training and deep lived experience to my practice. I don't just understand the complexities of life’s heaviest transitions from a textbook—I know them personally. My work is profoundly shaped by my own lived experiences with infertility, the non-linear realities of adoption, and the heavy, exhausting path of caregiving for a loved one navigating severe injury. I know firsthand what the uncertainty, isolation, and emotional agility of these seasons feel like.
To support you through these complex spaces, I have intentionally pursued specialized, evidence-based training. I am fully certified in Complex Trauma Therapy and have completed formal training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) through ICEEFT. In individual sessions, I draw from a diverse therapeutic toolkit tailored to your unique needs, including:
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to process deep emotions and underlying needs.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) to explore, understand, and bring healing to the different parts of who you are.
Narrative Therapy to help you untangle and reframe the stories you hold about your life and challenges.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) & Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) to provide practical, everyday strategies for emotional regulation and structural coping.
As a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), I work with clients across multiple provinces, ensuring your care is rooted in the highest professional and ethical standards.
With deep roots in British Columbia and a life now happily established in Alberta, I love spending my time outside the clinic embracing the outdoors, getting lost in a good book, writing, or crocheting. Above all, I love spending quality time with my family and traveling—especially if that travel involves packing a bag to catch a great live concert or a sporting event.
